Tsubasa glanced at the name flashing on the screen and grinned before flipping his cellphone open. "Why hello there," he said brightly. "It's been a long time since we've talked," he added with a touch of reproach.

"And whose fault would that be?" Hideaki teased.

"Yours," Tsubasa answered swiftly without missing a beat.

"You're so busy lately that I only hear whatever news gets passed down the grapevine from your manager to my manager," Hideaki protested.

"And so, what did you hear?"

Hideaki made a sudden choking noise on the other end of the line. Tsubasa smirked. So that's what this was about: Hide-kun could be so transparent.

"Oh, just that your Christmas concerts went off fantastically."

"They did," Tsubasa acknowledged. He spent the next ten minutes giving a recap of the highlights and a few thoughts of elements that they could incorporate in an upcoming unit tour to a chorus of Hideaki's ahhs and hmms. Tsubasa paused to take a breath. "Well, that's about it," he said cheerfully. "It's almost time for me to go to sleep now so..."

Muffled coughing noises.

"Are you okay?" Tsubasa asked solicitously with a bit of alarm as the sounds grew louder.

"Ahh... yes. I'm fine. I, well, I heard that there was also... Well... umm..."

Tsubasa grinned.  He had gotten lost in the details of the concert and forgotten about that - the true reason why Hideaki was calling him up.  "Yes? What is it?" he inquired politely. He could almost see the way that Hide-kun must be flailing around in distress.

Hideaki coughed again. "Santa outfit," he whispered so quietly that Tsubasa wouldn't have been able to tell what the words were if he hadn't been expecting them.

"Hmm... oh."

"And so, err... that is... Yes? Please?"

Tsubasa laughed and made a mental note to sneak the costume off the rack. Hide-kun was so, so obvious. "We'll see," he said judiciously. "But only if you promise not to be naughty."

Hideaki promptly choked again.

Tsubasa is fond of beautiful things. He loves sitting underneath a sky of twinkling stars, watching the graceful arc of a baseball as it sails over the back wall to make a home run, and singing to a sea of shimmering penlights. He doesn't like to admit it, but on occasion, he even likes (some of) his stage costumes - sparkles, sequins, feathers and the whole lot. And yes, as cliched as it is, he also enjoys long walks on the beach during sunsets.

However, as much as he likes all of these things, none of them compare to how much he adores Takizawa Hideaki. He focuses his attention on his aikata (currently hunched over one of his laptops doing heavens knows what). Black-rimmed glasses are perched on the end of his nose and his just-rolled-out-of-bed hair is pointing every which way except flat against his head. Tsubasa wrinkles his nose. Really, he thinks fondly to himself. Someone ought to teach Hide-kun that painfully bright silver tanktops don't quite go with baggy black trackpants (and were those sequins down the side?!).

Tsubasa reaches over and runs his fingers through Hideaki's hair, smoothing it down as best as he could. Hideaki turns towards him and smiles so widely his eyes crinkle into funny little lines. "Thank you," Hideaki says and Tsubasa's heart flutters like he's a silly teenager again just falling in love even though the dark shadows  underneath Hideaki's eyes that require more makeup these days to hide and the laugh lines around his mouth say otherwise. Another thing Tsubasa won't admit - every time Takizawa Hideaki smiles at him - just for him - he falls a little more in love.

And so, "Come on," he says instead and tugs at Hideaki by the collar. "You need to get out of these clothes."

"Morning sex?" Hideaki jumps to his feet and his face lights up, all hopeful.

"Fashion disaster," Tsubasa corrects him, giggling when Hideaki's face falls. "And maybe we'll see from there?" he adds with a wink. Really, someone ought to teach Hide-kun the basics of fashion, but it was so much more fun to "correct" his mishaps.

On nights when Tsubasa feels small, cold, and lonely, Hideaki never says the wrong thing because he never says much. One look at the miserable, shivering mess on his doorstep is all that it takes before he pulls Tsubasa into his apartment and all but carries him into bed.

Bundled up in a quilt while wearing borrowed pajama pants and a tee, Tsubasa rests his head on Hideaki's chest and listens to his heartbeat. The steady rise and fall to the rhythmic beating is calming and Hideaki's arms wrapped around him are a comforting, reassuring weight. Hideaki doesn't ask questions, he doesn't nag and if he's fretting, he doesn't show it. He just is and that is why Tsubasa always finds himself seeking out Hide-kun when he needs a reminder that he is loved.

Tsubasa curled an arm around Hideaki's shoulders. Hideaki made tiny noises of happiness and cuddled closer. Tsubasa shivered. Hideaki's erection was pressed snugly in between them and despite having just orgasmed himself, the close proximity was keeping Tsubasa's own cock very interested in the possible proceedings. He ran a hand up and down Hideaki's back lazily. "So you've been cheating on me?" he said teasingly.

Hideaki's response was to sit up on his elbows, laugh and swat at Tsubasa's head. "Hmm?"

Tsubasa raised an eyebrow. "Well, you know what they say. Old dogs only learn new tricks in new beds."

Hideaki smirked. "I'm still and always will be younger than you, Imai-san."

Tsubasa nodded agreeably. "Okay then, young dogs can learn new tricks in new beds too."

Hideaki snorted and tickled Tsubasa on the ribs mercilessly. Tsubasa yelped and retaliated. Five minutes later, they were more or less in the same position as before with Hideaki collapsed triumphantly on top. Tsubasa resumed stroking Hideaki on the back. "But really, where did you learn all those new techniques?"

Hideaki ducked his head and blushed. "Not telling," he mumbled.

Tsubasa gave his hips an experimental thrust upwards, grinning when he heard Hideaki's sharp intake of breath. "Are you sure you don't want to tell?"

Hideaki hid his head in Tsubasa's shoulder and mumbled something incomprehensible. Tsubasa made a show of cleaning out his ears. "What was that?"

"I found some tips online," Hideaki said, a decibel louder.

The thought of his boyfriend diligently researching oral sex techniques online struck Tsubasa as irresistably funny and endearing; the grin on his face shows it. Hideaki pouted and Tsubasa leaned forward, pressing their lips together in a kiss.

Hideaki laughs nervously and fans his face. Tsubasa watches him out of the corner of his eye and pastes a serene smile on his face. Yet another embarassing Takizawa Hideaki story aired on national television.
